Weightlifting straps are a common training tool that many lifters use as part of their workouts.

These are basically a thick set of leather, canvas or nylon that are wrapped around your wrists and then around the bar or dumbbell to help secure your grip and focus in more closely on the targeted muscle group.

Although they are a helpful way of increasing overall muscle activation, many people out there consider straps to be a “crutch” that should be avoided.
